
Personal Assistance Options Board of Directors members provide oversight, guidance and support for the organization. They are the guardians of the PAO mission, ensuring that it is being fulfilled and adhered to in all that the organization does. Board members give their skills and knowledge, recruit other Board members, provide important links to other organizations that may be able to support the PAO mission, and advocate for and support the organization's goals and plans.
PAO board members also hold a fiduciary responsibility by holding the organization accountable to the people served by PAO and funding agencies. The Board also oversees customer satisfaction, planning and budgeting, financial performance and goal setting.
Board member qualifications include:
(1) Strong personal interest in PAO and its mission
(2) Leadership and critical thinking skills
(3) Demonstrated effectiveness in a team environment
(4) Previous volunteer experience is a plus
(5) Specialized experience to offer (legal, financial, marketing, human resources, fundraising, etc.)
